The reason I opened this thread is because I have been riding a Tri Glide for a couple of days and loved the stereo and the cushy seat, I rode around thinking this is the way to ride and I am going to get a Street Glide. Then I rode my lo again and all that wanting went away and the music took away from me the experience.
Plus one. Had a sports...and I gained 80 lbs and started riding I75...sporty just too light and squirrely. I like sitting IN my FLSTFB....low center of gravity...fat tires...stable platform. Not to mention the 96b engine....stop at a light and look over at a guy on a dyna or other non balanced engine....looks like a human milkshake.
Dyna is too much like a sporty on mild steroids.
For one, I actually like that milk-shake look, a lot of old Harley guys will tell you that the bike that did not rumble was just.. too 'Jap' !. .
I picked up the Crossbones because I liked the old school look and springer front end. Always have liked the softail look. To me it's about what makes me smile when I'm riding it and the Crossbones definitely does that.
Having said that, by the time I'm done making the Crossbones exactly how I want it to look, it may not resemble the Crossbones as much as a Bad Boy or a cross between the two.
I'm moving from a Dyna Fat Bob that I totaled to a Fat Boy Lo. I really liked the Fat Bob but I want a bigger bike that I can put bigger bags on. I also like the lines of the Fat Boy Lo better. It also comes with floorboards which I think will be more comfortable then my pegs with heel rests ever were. Especially with my knees that have endured 10 years of the Marine Corps so far.

Yeah....well.....I remember those big black rotary dial telephones....and jee whiz....whatta u know....they got cell phones now. And electricity too. And....all the dinosaurs are gone. And ... the Japs got nuked by a new fangled bomb and tossed in the towel. What will they come up with next....oh.....maybe a balanced v twin in a Harley......oh noooooooooo Mr. Bill!

Temper fi. Thank you for your Service. My two nephews have cycled through Afghanistan. One is getting out. One is still in the shtt. Tell us about your wreck and how you survived it. Before you leave the dealer....have them put on engine guards...will save a leg in a low speed tumble. I have a '10 Lo.....really enjoy it. Comfortable, stable as all go out....and the balanced engine is worth the 25 lbs a few hundred bucks. You'll like the suspension also. Bags will fit great....you can do all sorts of things with various bags.
