Hi Guys, I have a 1989 Heritage that I just bought. When I hold the switch in the turn signals work. When I release the switch they go out. They dont blink or stay on they just go off and stay off. Both sides are doing the same thing. Any ideas???
On my 1986 FXSTC, Harley had added a push to operate turn signal.
You had to click them again to shut off the signals.
Those made prior were "deadman" switches meaning they only flashed while held in.
Old farts didn't like the new fangled feature so Harley went back to the "deadman" switch for a couple of years as far as I know.

That is the way Harleys used to operate. They experimented with a few systems but nothing became standard till 96...when they made the speedos electric...then most models got a self canceling system. You can make yours self canceling for a Benjamin.
