I'm looking at the interior pics and both eBay and LU pics look exactly the same. eBay seller is selling it for $15 more (EBay = $54.95; LU = $39.95). If eBay version really is smaller, it's worth paying extra.

The AX30010 and AX30030 (old ones) were found to not meet DOT standards so they had to redesign them. HOWEVER, they never changed the model numbers.

The AX4000 is the same shell size as the new design (hence the DOT marking) but instead of being carbon fiber, they're made out of Fiberglass.

If you go back through the threads, you'll see that Outlaw had to stop making the super small helmets that everyone was buying. Even the guy on ebay that had them for a while after Outlaw stopped making them sold out and could only get the new, slightly larger design.

So all the new, Ultra Low Profile modeled half helmets, carbon or fiberglass, are the redesigned, slightly larger sizes.

I was lucky enough to get one of the last low profile Outlaw helmets from the Ebay guy before he ran out. I'm happy to report I recently was pulled over by a motorcycle cop who said he stopped me for wearing a novelty helmet. I removed my Outlaw and showed him the Dot stamp and tag, his jaw dropped said this is the smallest Dot helmet he had ever seen. He then appologized for pulling me over, wished me a great day and off we rode.

Felt great, but I sure hope it doesnt target me to get pulled over all the time.

I just ordered my second Outlaw Ultra Low Matte Carbon Fiber 1/2 helmet from Leatherup.com

I got it because I didn't feel like having to worry about being harrassed by LE's and also wanted a little more safety with a DOT helmet.
I ordered the first one last week with the OL as a guinne pig. It fits well and only has a small piece of foam on the top of the inside of the helmet. It is as low a profile as you can get. It sits substancially lower on the head than the Outlaw Ultra Slim Profile Fiberglass Black Matte Motorcycle Half Helmet that I also ordered with it as a comparison. The helmet shell is not as wide either.
I guess they can make it smaller with the stronger carbon-fiber.
It's damn close to the look of my illegal novality helmet in my opinion.

I am very happy with the fit and look of it.

Here is the sight for both:
Look at the multiview to see the padding for on top of the head.

I personally don't like the detachable visor, so I won't have that on the helmets.
I also just unscrewed the buttons for the visor and put in small black plugs from the hardware store in the holes where the screws were.

My matte gray Licks NovDot helmet just came in. Took exactly 1 week after I ordered it; delivered from MA to CA. Super light! Really liking this matte gray. It has that rubbery feel to it. I'll post pics when I get home.
