Default Backfiring question

Just put my Samson True Duals on a few days ago. Got a little bit of a backfire. Just wondering is this going to cause damage to anything? Figuring once I get a tuner and air cleaner will this take care of the problem?

Checking to make sure I am not doing any damage. Really love the sound and I do set car alarms off from time to time now. lol

The back fireing is from running lean. When you get it tuned it'll stop doing it.

Guessing I should wait until I get an air cleaner and have it tuned then?

Yeah, it'll be fine until then. It's just more noticeable with those pipes. It's not gonna hurt anything.

It all depends on what you are referring to as backfiring. Baffleless fishtails will always have that unique fishtail sound on deceleration. Loud popping at other times will msot likely indicate a lean condition.

Letting off the gas it pops a little. But not a loud pop of a true backfire. Will get an air cleaner in a couple of months.

It sounds like a lean condition. But, check your joints for leaks and your flanges as well. Did you use any Ultra Copper on the joints? It helps to seal all the joints that have clamps on them.

Agreed .I remember seeing a post where you said your recent exhaust install you had some leaks.A leak will also cause these kinds of issues.Fix that up and you may be good to go.

I took it to the dealer yesterday and had them re-install. Spent 8 hours putting it on and off 3 times and each time still had a leak some place. They got it on good checked last night for leaks and couldn't seem to find any. Will check again tonight when I get home. Sucks had to spend my seat money on the dealer service. hah ah well there is next month.
