I'm dying to buy the radical paint set for deluxe(burst blue with silver tribal flame) but I keep calling my delaership and he checks the whole country on his computer and its obsolete? I know delaers bid for these things and stuff, but can anyone help me locate one, or suggest different ways to find it.
Here is the amazing paint set that I'm looking for:http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
RE: Why is it so hard to find a numbered paint kit?
I'd say that it probably hasn't been released yet. Beware when buying the paint set. Check it over in person if possible. I had to send mine back 2 days after I got it from pits in the paint under the clear coat. Got it back 3 months later and I have to send it back again over the winter as the clear coat has a bunch of pin holes in it on the tank.
RE: Why is it so hard to find a numbered paint kit?
HD special paint sets have been known to have their quality control problems in the past. I know of a guy that bought a set and had it start to chip off in about a year or so. Personally, if I wanted custom paint, I'd get a one of a kind instead of a cookie cutter numbered set.
RE: Why is it so hard to find a numbered paint kit?
I agree. I had my NT painted last winter, had it about 3 months and someone else got almost the exact paint job i had. That pisses me off so i am stripping it down again this winter to change it to something that nobody can duplicate.
RE: Why is it so hard to find a numbered paint kit?
Thanks for all the replies guys. someone else also told me about the quality problems that everyone seems to be having with the customs paint sets from harley.
I thought about getting a custom paint for my bike, but I really didn't know where to go to. I don't want to be limited to the the local paint shops only, however its hard to explain what you want over the phone and a hassle to ship stuff back if there is a problem.
Can anyone suggest a paint shop to me? Local or not doesn'tr matter, I live in Long Island, NY.
Thanks for all the replies and the help.
RE: Why is it so hard to find a numbered paint kit?
There ate loads of radical paint sets on Ebay. Last winter I ended up with two of them. It was a tough decision to pick the one I really wanted because they were both pretty sweet. Both sets had no flaws what-so-ever and they came in the original Harley - Davidson boxes with the certificates of authenticity.
I ended up selling the Fast Eddie Tins on ebay and they sold in less than 8 hours.
I've forced myself to stop surfing the paint section on Ebay because there are so many great deals, I'll end up gettin divorced.
