New Kuryakyn Wind Deflectors (pics)
There have been many threads about fork-mounted chrome wind deflectors. While almost everyone who's tried them agrees that they work well to keep turbulence from coming up under the windshield, many people dislike the "fang" look of Harley's chrome deflectors.
Kuryakyn has just come out with their own, improved version. These have louvers that you can slide open to let air pass through or close to keep out cold air or rain. They also have somewhat more style to them than Harley's offering. (These are made for softails and some touring models.)
I just got a set today ($89 from denniskirk.com, $99 from Kuryakyn direct) and mounted them, a 10-minute job. I'm still not sure whether I like the look or not, but a short freeway jaunt proved that they work as well as or better than Harley's offering. They also seem to be very high quality chrome, like most Kuryakyn stuff.
Below are a few pics of my bike with the old Harley deflectors and the new Kuryakyn pieces. You can decide for yourselves what you think.

Wow.
Thanks for all the replies & good info.
I do have a set of the Harley "fangs". I usually run them in the Winter. Just didn't this year. They do help. They cut the problem in 1/2. It is hotter on your legs with them on in the Summertime. So I think I'll try that stock ht shld on there (maybe trim an inch off).
I've been looking on ebay. These guys want (almost) as much as you can buy one @ the dealer (w/the 20% deal), which is only because people will pay it I guess. Ebay cracks me up.
I like those Kuryakin fangs. That is one nice scooter by the way.
So if anyone has a stk ht windshield (complete or just the plexi-glass)
and they want a reasonable price, I'd like to buy it.
Thanks.
