Hey guys, Just curious what you guys think of the Vance & Hines Big Shot Long and the Big Shot Staggered pipes on a 04 Heritage? I liked the longs, but read that you will lose more power with those compared to the Staggered since they are shorter. Do you guys argree? Also what is the differance between the Long Shots and Big Shots? I'm wanting to make it loud. I have a 79 FLH with straight pipes and love it! Thanks
Not sure about the power loss. They both utilize the Power Chamber. I had the longs on my Heritage and to me they look better on a Heritage than the BSS but that's my opinion. I also ran the quiet baffles to take out the tinny sound and they had good torque.
I have the BSS on my Lo and the Double Barrel Longs on my Deluxe. I have the QB's in my BSS.
As for performance...yes. The BSS are better performers. There's just a bit more torque on my LO in comparison to the Deluxe. But I also have a bit more air getting in on the LO than the Deluxe. The Deluxe is my wifes bike and she LOVES it.
As for looks on my Deluxe (and your Heritage), the DBL's are perfect for that bike. As for sound, the BSS's are louder, but the DBL's sound very nice too.
Have the BSL and love them. I am hoping to change the baffles this weekend to BCT Baffles... Supposively makes the sound deeper and a bit louder as well as increases performance a bit... I love the BSLs
Iam sure the BSL's will lose power, my son have some on his NT and they lost a bunch under 3k... just look it up in the dyno thread in here.... post 86 and 87 to compare to BR's2-2 to the BSL's
On a Heritage or any of the bikes with bags I like the longer pipes.
Im running the BSS and they work well for me for a 2-2 pipe , I do think the "power chamber" helps with the pipe making good power. I bought them befor I started using bags and if i knew that I would be using bags about 50% of the time I probably would have gone with a set of the BSL or a 2-1 pipe
