Just put a new Mustang seat(One Piece with the passenger pillion attached) on my 2009 Crossbones was wondering if there was a sissy bar out there that where I would not have to put a turn signal relocation kit on the bike because I have saddle bags on the bike. Or is this combination not going to work?. Also if anyone has any ideas or you have done this to your bones, could I get some pics.
You have several options to make this combination work. Are you running the Crossbones style bags from Harley? I guess one of the bigger things you have to get clarification on is what Harley sissy bars work with that seat.
Assuming that any number of Harley detachable sissy bars will work, you can combine the saddle bags and sissy bar by using a separately purchased docking hardware such as 53821-00. This allows you to mount your saddle bags and run detachable accessories.
Unfortunately if running this stuff in stock form, you would have to install a turn signal relocater kit. I say "Stock Form" because there heave been several write up's done on these forums where people have modified their detachable sissy bars and side plates by grinding down a certain part in order to make it fit without having to use a relocater kit. I have not personally done this myself nor have a seen one done up close but I can't imagine that all these people who claim to have done it are making it up. Do a forum search and I am sure you will come across a number of threads concerning this mod and how to do it.
