I'm working on some mods for my "new to me" 2010 Heritage; V&H true duals, RSD Speed Five A/C, TTS Mastertune. Did my second v-tune run yesterday. When I went out to the shop tonight, I noticed oil leaking around one of my rear cylinder rocker cover bolts. I've still got a year on the warranty, so I want to get the dealer to fix it. My question is, are they going to hassle me about the warranty over the mods? That would really suck, but I've got a bad feeling it's going to be an issue. What do you guys think? Anybody have a similar experience?
Your mastertune could void the warranty. I know my dealer said that the PCV I picked up would void it. They said they wont give me a hard time about it because I bought the bike off them and they know me, but if I ever broke down on the road I better be ready to pay. Just call and tell them you were thinking about doing those mods, and ask if it will be a problem. If so, then take a few hours to put her back to stock before you take it in.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. So what if I just reload the stock cal and don't mention the TTS? I'd hate to have to go back to stock pipes. That was a pain in the a** install. I guess I would if I had to.
Put on stock A/C and load original map back in the ECM. If they make a problem about the pipes, they will have to prove the pipes caused the leak. And that will be pretty hard to do.
If you just upload the original map, they will moan about the A/C in combination with the pipes making the bike too lean and running too hot and thusr causing the leak etc etc ...

Yep, I can hear 'em now. I'll try that and see what happens. Nice pipes, BTW! What baffles are you running if any? I put the quiet baffles in, but I'm not sure if I'm diggin' the sound yet.
I run the quiet baffle and have the smartpartz one in there too. takes off a couple of decibels.
I got the TTS too, for what it's worth, my dealer knows about it but he doesn't make an issue out of it. I asked them before I got it ... so before you go ahead and swap it all out, give them a call as jlasoftail suggested ... saves you some wrenching ...
Na dont worry about removing stuff, just take it in. There is no such thing as voiding your warranty they can say we think thats it all they want but courts want proof.
Thanks for the replies, bro's. I'll make the call today and see what they say. Got a few days of rain/snow in the forecast, so I don't think I'll be bringing it in for another week or so.
My dealer told me that there is a federal law that protects you. You can do what you want to your bike but if something goes wrong and it is determined not to be your fault it will be fixed under warranty. If you don't think it's something you did you should be fine.
