I have 2003 FXSTI with lots of motor mods. I now have V&H short shots not very good for making big power i have been told. I like to go with D&D Fatcat i have heard lots of good things about them. Which Baffle should i use Luever or big bore?
My motor:
95ci
50mm Kuryakyn TB
10.5:1 compression
4G Kuryakyn cams/ gear driven
lots of head work done by John Sachs
106HP
107TQ
I went with big bore "quiet" baffles on my fatcat. I like it when I get on it, but it needs a bit more growl. I intend on pulling it out and removing some of the packing but I know how hard it is so I am waiting until we have a rainy weekend. Nice weather is for riding.
To your question, I suspect it depends on the sound you want. The fatty gives a real deep sound, the louvered baffles don't do much to baffle it but don't have the lower tone that the big bore does.
I got my D&D Lowcat from Cateye Customs.. They are a sponsor of the forums as well.. As for which baffle, Leonard at D&D will be a great help to you in your choice.. I went with the standard baffle but I'm going to install the performance baffle sometime soon and see what that does for me..
