I'm curious how does the Harley Bag attach to the bike?

Nylon straps instead of leather. The back of the bag appears to be made from something like an industrial belt instead of leather.
The quick disconnects are smaller and not as thick as the LW.

Hi guys, this is Garry from Leather Pros. I've been thinking of making these for a couple years, but I didn't like the idea of selling something that would mess up the paint (straps). After seeing some of the other forum members' hard mount swingarm bags, I came up with an idea to hard mount these things and yet have them detachable in about 20 seconds without tools, leaving only some chrome buttons on the swingarm. Do you guys leave these things on all the time or is detachable something you would like? We might even be able to make a kit that would work on your existing bag. What do you think?

I guarantee I can get in my bag WAY faster than you can...

I'd rather support a guy producing handmade bags rather than some mass produced version any day.

Mine is on all the time(2 years now) I can get mine off in under 5 minutes. Would be interested in a "quicker" kit if the price is right. I'm into my "hard mount" kit for small change and a little effort right now.

Here's what I did using Plexi-glas (someone elses idea) and simple hardware:

I leave mine attached to a hard mounted diamond plate. It's held on by the three belt guard mounts.
I think if you came up with a nice clean design it would sell. I've had guys walk up and ask about mine. Then tell me I should make a kit to sell.
Guys with all thumbs or no tools? I think there's a market out there for you.

Those bags don't look like a one up, one of a kind. It looks like every other one he's made using the same pattern.
So you buy your bag from a one man operation and we got our from a small company employing a small work force using the same pattern.
Both right here in the USA I might add.
You keep stressing mass produced. Just how big a business do you think Leatherworks is and how big a market for solo bags?

Sounds like he thinks we're talking about "quick release" from the Bike itself and not just the lid. I'm talking about opening and closing the bag, putting things in and pulling things out and securing it again.. if you use straps instead of clips you're always gonna spend longer opening and securing the lid.. that's just basic laws of physics.

Gary is referring to the bag being removed/attached to the bike.
meatsack has the parachute/paratrooper clasp which would also allow quick entry.
LW and GW both make true buckles if that's what you want on your bag.
