Default Chrome Clutch/Master Cyl. part No.

I found a great deal on a set of chrome clutch bracket and master cylinder, along with chrome switch housings. The switch housings are the same part# for my bike and his; his is a '07 Dyna and I have a '08 heritage. The part # for the Dyna clutch kit is 45355-06a and HD says it fits up to '07 softails and Dynas. For my bike, part # is 45355-08, says it fits '08-up Dyna and Softails. I'd like to get a look at it to see if there's enough difference to keep it from working, but it's too far away to go look. Does anybody know what might be the diff., and if it's something that can or cannot be overcome?

Didn't 08 come out with the safety switch in the clutch to prevent starts in gear?

If that's the case I would be able to jump the switch and would be good to go! Waiting for more ideas (fingers crossed)

Hspring, your reply just sunk in. My '08 can be started in neutral without using the clutch, but if it's in gear you have to mash the clutch or it won't turn over. I believe Harleys have been that way for years, but I can't really remember for sure right now. (Mind don't work so good no more, more from mileage than age I'm afraid!) Are you sure that prior year models would let the bike turn over in gear with the clutch out? It'd be nice if that started in '08, but I'm not so sure...

I'm pretty sure it was 08 when those safety switches started

OK, I talked to the dealer and he said it would definitely work. He thinks the only diff. may be the MC cover. But, he said "get it". So I am. Thanks a lot for y'alls help!

Well, the stuff came today, and it fits! I guess the difference was the MC cover, although they look identical. I used mine anyway, just to be sure. I love the new look! Now I've got to drill/dremel my bars for internal wiring!
