I posted this in the general HD forum but then figured you softail guys would know best about this kind of thing.
I've been looking everywhere for a solo saddlebag. I already have a set of bags for longer trips but I want one of those swingarm bags for the short hops. At the top of my list is Midwest Motorcycle Supply's solo bag 74-56. It's the BLACK, composite LEFT side bag. I've seen a bunch of left side BROWN ones, I've seen a bunch of black RIGHT siders, and I've seen a bunch of $100 plus solo bags. I've emailed Leatherbull and Frontier cycle, both of which say they sell the left side black composite on or at their store. Neither have replied. Does anyone know where I should go? These bags are about $40, which, after spending a grand on my bike this winter, is about all I'm willing to spend. Any help is appreciated! Thanks, all!!
You're gonna have to spend more than $40 to get a good, quality swingarm bag. The HD one's have plastic sides and are more than most others. I agree with the Doc above...get the Leatherworks 5" bag. It's made of thick, quality leather and will do what you want and look nice. I'm really enjoying mine.
If $40 is all you are willing to spend I wouldn't spend it on a swingarm bag. The good ones that would last more than one season cost more. Save up until you can get a good one it will be worth it in the long run.
