Krylon Semi Flat Black. I did my heavy breather and chrome piece around the taillight and my friends couldn't tell the difference. Maybe next year I'll powdercoat stuff but for now, rattle can will suffice. If it scratches or anything I can touch it up really quick.

UPDATE: I removed the lense, bulb, and took the wires out of the connector but can't get the rubber grommet out. Any suggestions?

I've used a lube like WD40,Vaseline,.... and wiggle it around to get lube into the area and it should wiggle out. You may have to take a pair of pliers with duct tape over the plier ends to aide in the wiggling process.

Wiggle it out towards the bike right? I understand the concept but the headlight side of the grommet is huge. What a pain in the dick

Just cut the wires and solder them back together. That is what I did after looking over everything.

I am trying to do the same thing and am having the same challenges. ... side note , I refuse to cut any wires. The only way to get at the pinch bolts is to remove this tin behind the headlamp, but what a PIA

Do you pull the grommet out the front of the headlamp bucket, or out the rear towards the bike ?

You posted on a long dead link...

Start a new thread, describe your issue and give details about bike, model, year...

And don`t cut wires like the doofus suggested...
