I was just told that part number 58125-90B would not fit my 2006 Deluxe by a dealer. Was told it only fits '93-'96 FLSTN models.Anyone know if this will work on my bike? http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I just got a windshield and HATE the buffeting from below. It is to the point of I'd rather go back to riding without the shield.

That's the part number I have and it fits my '06 Deluxe just fine.
I haven't fitted a windshield to my softail yet but they make highway riding above 70 mph far more comfortable so I'll probably get one soon.
I had one fitted to my Dyna and it worked perfectly but whenever I rode it in the rain the dirty water would come up off the front wheel and over the tank. The front of my jacket, tank and seat would be covered in mud. Without the windshield it was fine.
The problem was caused by the wind coming up behind the windshield and this also caused most of the buffeting. I found the type of helmet I was wearing made a big difference.

Those fugly fangs take care of that. Great for winter riding.
I have the same problem at 55 mph the buffeting is so bad that I get a headache. I have ordered a Laminar Lip diverter for the windshield interested to know if any one else has tried it.
of course i have the same issue going on with the buffeting, but since i do most of my riding on the superslab, going without a windshield is not a option for me.
when i put my feet up on top of the eng guard the buffeting is gone, so i ordered a set of fangs. i'll use them for a while until i can fabricate something that will attach to the WS and or the fork covers.. anything has to look better then the fangs, but if they solve the problem, they're going on.
I had the same problem until I changed my seat, I have a 2010 Crossbones. I now have a Corbin solo seat. Much less buffeting since I sit much lower. Just my .02.
So, i picked up a windshield for my xbones this past weekend. I installed the detachable hardware that was more of a pita than i expected.
Anyways, once on i was excited to take my first highway ride. My eyes are abour 2-3 inches above he top of the shield.
When driving, the shield distorted the road al little...kind of like big glasses. Freaked me out.
Once on the highway, my body wasnt getting thumped anymore and it didnt feel like i was hanging on for dear life. But my head felt like i went a few rounds with Tyson. The wind coming off the top of the shield shook my head terribly.
Is this normal?? Or do i have to adjust something?
I dont have too many options on the xbones to adjj my ride height because im like 6'3 250 lbs...
If it is...i may just return the shield.
sheild is to low i have the kingsize sheild on my bones and its perfect
