Late spring and early summer are coming and that means so is the biggest assortment of bugs. Although they say you can tell a happy rider by the bugs in his teeth, I prefer not. So, it's a windshield for me! A lot of time it is the angle of the shield that matters as well as the height. Angle should usually be about the same angle as your front forks, at least that is what works for me with my shield at just about chin level.

Buffering is an issue thats been around for Yrs.......

I've cut the stock shield 2'' off and it didn't help a bitl

The wind come in under the shield not over the top as most would think..

put Ur hand (cupped) in front of U belly/chest as U ride and U'll find it is forced up from the wind.

the only mod is the fangs that really seems to help. At least thats what a lot of members in here say..... But they are butt ugly...

I got the smaller one on my bones and I look over it. The only time I get a lot of wind in my helmet is:
#1 I have all the vents in the helmet not opened or closed properly.
#2 If I don't wear my jacket, my jacket has a high collar and that helps to keep air coming up from the bottom of my helmet. If I just wear a T shirt then there is more space for the air to get up there.
The other thing I like about the WD is when I'm in the rain, I can lean over the tank, looking through the WD and the WD will keep the rain off my visor so I can see better...

The OEM wind deflectors. They sort of look like fangs on your bike. See photo. This bike belongs to a forum member.

Wind protection seems to be hit or miss. I have a friend with a windvest and hates it. I guess for my Deuce I'm going to have to get the biggest and ugliest windshield I can.

Mine fit a lot closer to the forks. Not as if that makes them beautiful. A friend rode my bike last weekend to try them and is getting a set for his Heritage.

Hey Redder, let me know if you want to trade. I have the short one on my bones. I get a lot of buffeting. So much so that I can't read signs at about 60 mph. I'm about 5'11" on a good day. Seems if I put my hand directly out in front of me on top of the windshield, it helps a lot so I'm thinking I want a taller one. Either that or I'll wait for Matt or whoever it is that is developing one for the bones.

Default Deflector Part Number

I was just told that part number 58125-90B would not fit my 2006 Deluxe by a dealer. Was told it only fits '93-'96 FLSTN models. Anyone know if this will work on my bike? http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

I just got a windshield and HATE the buffeting from below. It is to the point of I'd rather go back to riding without the shield.
