Default Project clean sweep in progress...

I have removed my bagger tail, saddlebags, and the handlebar speakers today. I am going for a more stripped down bike and have decided that if I want all the bells and whistles I will save for a bagger. The speakers are already sold. I will get some pics in the morning, but the bars look so much cleaner without the speakers. I just ordered smoked lenses for the fender tip light and signals as well.

I am thinking about getting this derby cover http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25338-99A-HARLEY-DAVIDSON-Logo-Derby-Cover-IV-/360338937762?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash =item53e5dfd7a2

And painting the black letter candy red as I want a little more red, but not too much. It still needs to be understated. Maybe some sort of a similar timing cover with the red. That would be it for the red. I don't want it taking over the entire theme.

Thoughts?

Drew

Hey Drew. I'm running that derby now. the lettering and ring are all recessed, so it would be possible to flow some paint in there and I think would be a good idea. Nice and subtle.

If you're not in a hurry, I'm changing mine back out for my finned one when I get home from Iraq at the end of May. I really like that derby, but I'm just bored and gonna change it up some.

Really digging your new wheels bud.

I'm in no rush, just starting to think of how to tie it all together. The copvers are really inexpensive regardless. $45 on ebay.

Np, just hit me up at the end of May if you want it. If I was home, you could swing by when you hit the river run and pick it up, lol. Good luck!

I personally prefer a cleaner look, the way I run now is to have the ability to pop the bags and the sissy bar on for long trips which is much less often. If I was doing more trips (and could afford it), I'd prefer to have 2 bikes.

Now we're talking........

Mom always said if you don't have something good to say............ But you had way to much going on Drew.... Stripped and clean is the way that bike should be...

Sometimes, less is more and in the case of your ride I think that holds true.

There is a guy in the show us your derby covers thread that can make custom covers. Not sure if you would want to go that route or not.

So no more hard bags either?

KeeBee, I am keeping the hardbags for now if i ever get them back from my painter. I just got a wild hair after staring at my bike for an hour or so on Sunday out in the sun. I am sure I will figure something else out to do next. I have to think about the derby cover for a bit but I need a few items with a TINY bit of red to tire it all together.
