it frickin goes almost ninty with about 2 to 2.5 inches of travel up or down. Im thinkin thats way too much lol. and to adjust it do you just adjust the axle adjusters until you get the right tension or is there another way? By the way thanks for the help dynabob.

yup use the axle adjusters.....i measure the threads on the adjuster so it even but leave some slack in the belt cuz when you tighten the axle for some reason the belt gets tighter.....

Mine was as loose as yours, I started hearing a siren like noise on
deceleration, found this video useful (having a gauge/mechanism to check alignment)

When I go on my trip this summer I will take a pic of mine. I have Boss Bags (the '36' size... holds 36 beers each supposedly) and I put the light rolls on top of the bags (dome tent and self inflating pad) and if I'm feeling like I need to bring the kitchen sink, I inlude a sleeping bag and an over the sissy bar large bag. Otherwise I just use a day bag with a vinyl liner to put my electronic crap in, along with anything else there is room for. In the summer, I would rather use the space for a light leather jacket and chaps than a sleeping bag, however, because with a tent and a ground pad if it gets cold/cool out at night I can sleep in my leathers. I also bring along my tool kit and that Harley 'travel roll' that was a give away a few years ago. It includes one of those space age shiny high insulating blankets, flash light, extra bulbs, extra turn signal lenses, a kickstand pad, etc.

For camping the kickstand pad is important because overnight your bike can sink in pretty far.

I also bring a long 1/2" cable lock that I can wrap around the bike and a tree close enough to the tent that I can hit the ground running with my trusty Ruger in hand if I hear a chain saw, torch, or a really big guy with a cable cutter, etc.

I pick up the beers just before I set up the tent. I stay at a motel once every four days or so, so I can ride on clean shorts.
