Ok, so Im wantin to run the 21/18 combo on my deluxe. Now, heres the problem.
Ive been told a 18 x 4.25 will fit, but what size tire do I need to run, so I wont run into any problems with rubbing. Will a 18 x 4.25 fit on the back of my 06 deluxe? I need the TRUTH, and not what a dealer wants to sell me. Im wantin to run this combo, even if I have to wait for the Vee rubber tires.
Ive only seen one guy on here that has run the 18 x 4.25 rear wheel and I cant remember who it was, to ask him if he has had any problems with the 18 rear wheel.
Cmon Santo, Bobber, Malingerer, Blck, Drew, etc, I know you guys will know. Any help guys is Always appreciated.

You need to check the tire specs for the Vrubber... I have a 05 train with a deluxe fender on the rear... I'm running a 18x4.25 with a METZ 160/60R-18 it is the widest you'll be able to stuff in there... I can't even stick a finger in between the tire and the inside of the fender but even with the air ride all the way down it doesn't touch the tire.
Avon 160 will be to wide I know that already... The Metz is just a little more narrow and fits perfect...
thats what i have the rear tire is a 150-60-18 vee rubber no rubbing at all. the only thing i dont like is the rear white wall is a lil smaller than the front
So., I can run a 150-60-18 WW VEE rubber with no problems. I want to run the 18 in the back to show off more of the fat spokes. I just want to make sure that if I order 21 / 18 combo in wheels, that Im not gonna have any issues with rubbing.
Man truckin the thing about Ride wrights is the price tag. Ive been saving some coin for this mod for a couple of months now. I originally was gonna do the 21 \16, but everybody does that. I want to be different. Hence the 21 \ 18 combo. Since Im gonna do the rear 18, gonna have to spend more cheddar on Vee rubber for the 18 rear. So, Im gonna go with DNA's, to save some dough. Ive only had good experiences with DNA's. Ive bought 3 sets of regular spokes with no problems. I can get a set of 21 / 18 Dna's with Black Rim and chrome spokes to my door for 1K. Ride's are about 1700. So for the price of Ride's, I can get wheels and Vee rubbers for the same price of just wheels.
I just recieved my Ride Wrights went with 3.25 120/70/21 and 4.25 160/60/18 in the Rear but I decided to throw on some Metzlers and they are Sweeet!! Gonna drop it off to the Indy today!! Although I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for!! Just IMO

I've been running an 18-4.25 with 150/70 18's and 160/60 18's on my 03 Fatboy for years now... no rubbing... no problems. Prefer the higher profile 150/70 for touring... a little more cushion. Bike lowered 2"...
