Well i picked up a 03 fatboy and been doings some mods (pipes, nacelle, and other odd and ends)since the weather here in michign has sucked!
Cant decide on Apes or beach bars looked at lots of photos still cant land a answer. Im 6'2'' and looking for something i can ride all day and not be hurting any imput will be great or photos that you think will help me -lol-
I've never had beach bars, but I've had drag bars and what ever bars are on a deuce and I can say that I love my apes and IMHO are the most comfortable bars.
I'm an ape guy too. I find them quite comfortable. They look cool, but they really are comfortable as well. i can get you all your bars and stuff for a discount! Pm or email and we can talk.
Either would look great on your bike. Are you long legged short torso?
Long legged and you might end up with your knees in the way for extreme left or right parking lot speed maneuvers with beach bars.
I love my 13.5" apes. I'm 5'8" and no longer reach forward like the stock bars had me doing.
I just bought a 1998 Fatboy and went thinking of what to do about bars I called the tech I have work on my bikes. I liked the Beach bar look and he agreed it would look awesome but was gonna be a Pain in the Neck....Literally. The older solid motor mounts send all the vibes right up the bars and to your neck.
Told me if it were a newer Rubber mount he would do it in a heart beat. So I passed on beach bars and went ahead with a bunch of other mods.
No I got to looking at other Custom Deluxe, Heritage and a few FB ( Here on HD Forum) with the big Apes....not for me.
But I have my 06 SB with Mini Apes and they are great. So I call again and ask about Mini Apes and he tell me to go 12 inch Apes So I went that way.
Going up Saturday to have a look and take some pic's
I think you should go with street slaaaamers!! Look at my sig pic!!! Super comfortable!! Step away from the Apes and be different or all our bikes are gonna look the same...Lol!!
