I'm also looking for tunes for my 11 Deluxe. There are alot of speakers out on the market. Some guys on here recomment the J&M speakers, other use Cycle Sounds, Shark, Kuryakyn, etc. There are so many different styles of speakers some with amps some where the amp is mounted on the bike. There are XM Radios that can be mounted on the handlebasr by Harley, others use their MP3/MP4 players, some use GPS units that has a satellite radio with it. So, do your research, find peole in your area that have systems on their handlebars and ask to listen to them. Even better, ask them to take you for a ride so you can hear the speakers at speeds. I'm working with a very nice guy in Hernando, Ms, south of Memphis who is putting together a system for my Deluxe. Tommy at Southern Motorcycle Radios is doing a bunch of research with Garmin and Harley to see what will work best for me. I'll take an overnight trip when we are ready to install. I just have to decide if I'm going the GPS Zumo, HD XM Radio only, or just the MP3 route. Good Luck.
I used the Shark audio amplifier and two 3 inch speakers put them into a large windshield bag punched holes in the top of the bag for sound. Total cost including fuse holders and wire was $150
I went with the hd boom audio windshield kit for my 2011 Heritage. Flows nice with the bike. Sounds good too. Still yet to get on highway but read reviews saying its good up to about 75 - 80 mph.
I have run the J&M's and the Cycle Sounds saddlebags system on my ride. I have videos so you can hear what they sound like. With both going at the same time the sound was really good. I sell them both at a nice discount for forum members. I recently stripped off my saddlebags and speakers and am going back to stealth mod, but they rock. http://www.youtube.com/user/drvtwinn.../5/EMRFMPTiaO8
I put the Boom windshield mounted system on a few weeks ago. Looks like it belongs on the bike, sound quality is decent (not perfect) and yes you can hear it going down the highway. At 80mph you can still hear it enough to sing along, and I run loud enough pipes... Buy it on ebay though, can cost a fortune at the stealer (at least in Canada). I'm sure there's lots of great options out there, but I'm pretty happy with what I have.
Have been looking for a sound system for awhile now for my heritage.
I have looked at the HD boom audio as well as J&N system.
What do yall have and are ya happy with it?
i have the windshield mounted speaker system from Boom Audio with my xm radio playing through it.....would be nice if it had treble/bass with the up/down volume switch, but it is plenty loud enough on the road to hear it with ease

you'll definitely like the sound on the highway...plenty loud, just wish it had treble/bass controls to go along with the volume up/down
