Can any of you guru's on this site identify these pipes? I think they are Scream'n Eagle 16 gauge but I'm not sure.
I'm looking at ordering some boss 42D bags and need to know if they'll fit with my pipes. I didn't have the exhaust
installed myself, I bought the bike used.
SE's usually have the SE name and logo stamped into them. Those look like V&H long shots or one of their varients. In any case any bag that will clear stock staggered mufflers should clear those with ease.
Yep, look like SE 16 Gauge to me as I have them on my Deluxe as well. (Need to update my picture). I also have Heritage Springer Bags which sit low but just clear the pipe.
The Scream'n Eagle logo is stamped on the pipes, sorry I forgot to mention that. I was pretty sure they were the 16 gauge but needed to make sure. How do you guy's like your pipes? I really like these, I think they sound great on the bike. Not obnoxiously loud but a nice rumble. Thanks for the help! LP
You are correct, those are Screamin Eagle 16 Guage Double Barrels, I just installed a set on my 06 Fatty this weekend. I really like the sound. I went with the baffles that came with them to see how they sound, I don't know why I would change them. They really lope at idle. Good luck with the bag question. I am trying to figure out bags too, but they will only be on when I travel and that won't happen until spring now so I have some time to figure it out and look for the right ones.
Yup, those are the SE 16 Ga like everybody says. I have had those pipes on my '04 FatBoy since I picked it up from the dealer. I like the sound, not too loud, not too quiet, nice rumble, not obnoxious at all. The stealth crossover makes these pipes more like a 2 into 1 into 2 setup and I think that helps with the low end torque a bit. Very happy with the performance and looks. Although I'll admit that some of the offerings from V&H and others that are smooth from header to tip have a nicer appearance than the SE's. But I'm not sure if any of them have the crossover.
You should be able to get some real big bags on above those pipes. Check out www.ironbags.com and www.eagleleatherworks.com for some nice options. Both sites have lots of pics and you should be able to roughly gauge fitment for your ride. Neither are cheap but I've heard good things about both and am seriously considering the Ironbags myself.
