I use NON-CHLORINATED brake parts cleaner. It's clean and doesn't leave any residue. The non-chlorinated cleaner won't harm the black finish on the motor.

touche FLSTF use the same bud brake cleaner but the non chloro stuff , you can really tell when it is working almost instant responce and very specific , also propane is good if used correctly

If you want to use propane the easy way, just get out the propane torch you use for plumbing.

Nice low pressure and a handy little wand to point the stuff at the suspected gasket.
