Default 93 fatboy choke (enrichener)

Been around for awhile, numerous bikes, but learned awhile ago, that a quick question or two to wrenches that have done a particular job, can save me costly effups. My son, (no blame) overtightened the choke cable assembly to the mounting plate, and broke the plastic threaded collar. I got the new one, just wanted to know if there's anything special I need to know with the install. Many thanks for any suggestions.
Cheers

No special things to know with the install. Just bolt it to your carb, route it to the mounting plate and be careful not to overtight it. It uses a plastic thread that tends to break if you overtight it.

Very simple job.

I just rejetted my carb, before the jettign my choke wouldn't stay open unless I held it...no biggie, I'd just wait the minute for it to warm up. After removing and reinstalling, it's very stiff. I have to pull it to open and it definitely stays open. Actually seems better, but I'm wondering if I overtightened when I reinstalled. Should I leave it or loosen it?

I'll be doing this again as my carb has a small issue inside from previous owner and I need to get a new one.

CJinNH,
leave until u have to do the carb work then as u tighten it again pay close attention to it this next time. Mine is slightly stiff, and will hold location, but just barely. Took me a couple of tries....
Sounds like yours was worn and too loose b4 and might be close to correct right now??

pakiwi,
I also have the same probelm with the enrichener not holding its position, and the plastic threaded collar stripped.
My H/D parts book doesn't break down the actual components to this assembly. It appears the entire cable must be ordered which has the plastic collar, nut, and **** attached.
How did you obtain the individual parts?

You cannot change the individual parts. A new cable is $10 from an Indy and $15 from a dealer. Just replace it.
