1-3/4" vs 2"
On a 2003 twin cam Carb softail 88" motor whats the best drag pipes to run 1-3/4"or 2" straight pipes. Is one size better than another (tuning / power loss) had evos in the past always ran 1-3/4" my first twin cam. Is there much differance
As a guy who loves and runs drag pipes, I can say this.... they all pretty much suck, unless your willing to add at the very least, torque cones, lolly pops or baffles. I myself run 2 incher's and torque cones. Very good sounding setup with minimal torque loss down low. Here's the holy grail to making drag pipes work.

thanks for the info I been on that site before. I know about power loss / sound waves cone and other things. I quite going for the power harley years ago to much money to spend to get real power from a harley. I guess I am just tring for the sound and look. I used 1-3/4 pipes with all the evos I had in the past and was just tring to find out if going up to the twin cam 88" motor, if anyone had trouble with 1-3/4 on the motor..thanks for any help.....no cones or baffles just straight pipes
Just my opinion, but I would think the 1-3/4" would be better from the standpoint of a little more back pressure than 2". I am running 1-3/4" on my EVO also, and I do not know what the difference in sound would be with 2". Either one should sound great. I am guessing the 2' would be a little lower tone.
