Good price so far but the mechanic told me I better get the engine tuned and dyno(I have no idea what it is) and new air filter. The total comes up about $1600 out the door. I agreed to do it oh boy that is incredibly expensive. I am not sure whether I am doing this right or not. Or is there any other cheaper way to get it done right. What do you think?

Do you hear that sucking sound? That's the sound you hear when you don't do your homework and someone sucks all the money out of your pockets.

Look around this forum and learn, these people are smart and friendly.

They can help.

I put Rush Black Ceramic slipons that I got on E-Bay for $49.95 plus shipping brand new in the unopened box. I bought an old school mesh A/C from Frantic cycles and my cousin installed them in a half hour. No mapping, no PCV no nothing and the bike runs great. No decel popping or backfiring. I have a 2010 Lo and the 4 wire o2 sensors can adjust themselves to a certain point. I notice a nice bump in midrange power. Cancel that order and be patient and shop on E-Bay.

Wifes, 2010 Heritage, Power Commander V FuelMoto $299.00 with a decent map for your setup, Screaming Eagle II Slipon's from someone on the forum used $50.00, Stage One air system $100 from this forum. Installation about 2-3 hours. It will not be perfect because of the cats in the header, but makes a nice sound and bumps the performance. The best part, Jamie at Fuelmoto will send you a new map if you change the exhaust later on at no charge. This is not a hard project to complete.

I have learned that this forum is a great research tool for your questions and purchasing different products.

The mechanic got me into dyno tune rather than fuelpak. he said fuelpak would be a short cut process and down the line it could not be a perfect set up for the bike.
I feel dumb. but its always expensive there. s**t. ohwell, better call them and cancel

The FuelPak is all you'll ever need if you're not planning on doing any further engine work. And if you do decide to...you can sell it. I'm not sure this "mechanic" is really all that trustworthy. I hope his work is as good as his promises. $1600 is twice what this should all cost you. But I guess you can chalk it up to a learning experience.

If you only put on slip ons (or any exhaust) you dont need anything else really. Get a service manual, do it yourself and enjoy.

Read alot on the forums here and when you're ready to change to a hi-flow air cleaner (any type) you can do you fuel management then.

Ride safe and enjoy it. you'll be fine.

Your dealer IS trying to screw you, btw. Get on e-bay or the forum classifieds, pick up some slip ons and do the work yourself. simple tools.

I just put V&H slip ons on my Lo and NO NEED for re mapping or anything. Sounds great , runs great, no popping or anything. It was a pain in the ars untill I got the right tools to do it though.
