I just bought a 2011 FLSTC Heritage Softail a few weeks back. I love the bike, but I need a different seat. I am a big guy, and the wife isn't exactly dainty either, so we need something wide and comfy for long rides. There are tons of options as I am finding out, so I wanted to get some opinions from people who actually ride instead of salesmen.
Iam a big guy also, 6'2'' 290, but love my seat, but had to get something for the wife,,, the 07 pillion was truely a piece of chit..... got her the tourning seat, sissy pad and floor boards, Made a MAJOR difference.....
If ur stock front seat fits my 07 and its in good shape, I'd be interested in buying it, if U get a new one on the front...
Just got a mustang wide touring and going to be doing a couple hundred miles this weekend with the wife so will let you know sunday night how it went. She likes it so far for the short trips we have taken.

Cool, I will keep that in mind. The seat is in perfect condition. Like I said, I literally just bought the bike a few weeks ago...and I live in Va. which has been having flash thunderstorms pretty much every day for a week or so now...so not a lot of miles on her yet.
I'm looking for something that shifts my weight back a little. Hard to describe exactly, but when I am sitting straight up I end up sore after an hour or two. I'm looking at some of these gel seats, pillow seats, etc... Like I said, lots of options. But I may end up going with one of those Airhawk cushions. Still thinking about it.
I have a 2010 Heritage and though I like the look and feel of the stock seat, I needed a backrest. So with my experience with Mustang seats on several of my other rides, I purchased the vintage seat with backrest. It is more comfortable than the stock seat and with the backrest, I ride for miles without having lower back pain. The seat keeps the ole skool look of my ride. My wife, who has a 2009 Heritage, has the Ultimate seat with backrest. She swears by it but I don't like the larger "easy chair" look. But she likes it and it keeps her happy. Depending on the look you want or if comfort is your first choice, check into both manufacturer. I know that Ultimate allows you to use the seat for a limited time and if you don't like it you can return it for a refund. Good luck in deciding on a seat....

After doing a few hundred miles this weekend with the wife I have to say that the mustang was a good choice. I do not know how I used to do long hauls without a backrest. The wife was also real happy and not even a little sore after 3 days of riding. The ultimate looks nice too. Try to get on as many as possible.
