According to my service manual it should take 13.4oz or 396cc of type "E" fork oil, HD PN+99884-80.

Have fun.[sm=biker2.gif]

Hello Citoriplus,

My last bike was a 98 fxstc, which I often miss. I can only imagine a light weight bike like the fxstc with the big motor and a 6 speed must be a blast to ride.

Thanks for the info.

No problem on the info, the manual is actually kind of strange in that it lists fluids and quantities. But it says nothing about the light bulbs, at least it doesn't give the industry standard part numbers for them. Its a little weird in that way.

I morned the passing of the old Customs when they stopped making them. I thought they should have put the 200mm tire on them years ago and never stopped making them.
I was going to buy a Standard and "convert" it into a Custom when I went to the dealer on a Thursday. While I was there I told the salesman that I though the NT was the closest to a Custom, but the Standard would fit me better. That's when he told me that they were coming out with the 07's the next week and there was a Custom in the line up. Better yet, they actually had one in back that they were setting up for display on Monday. I told him that I would be back Monday, and first thing Monday morning I was there, they rolled it out, and I told them put it back IT WAS MINE!!!!
Of all the big twins it has to be the Hot Rod, there might be a better cadidate in the Dyna line, but this one fits the bill for me. I have been on a lot of bikes in 30+ years of riding, but this "monster" beats them all for hauling butt. Its not the fastest or the quickest bike around by any means. The crotch rockets can outrun, out turn, and out brake it every day of the week. But it IS a Harley and enough low end torque that doesn't seem to perform much different if I'm on it by myself, or if I have the wife aboard with me. And to be perfectly honest with the two of us on it the poor thing is close to if not over its weight limits. I'm not dumb enough to ask the wife what she weighs, so on that I'm just guessing.
BTW the 6th gear isn't all that useful around town, put it in 6th and try to roll the power on below 50/55 and it lets you know real quick that it doesn't like that kind of crap at all.
Can you tell I like this bike?
