Default Top ten Softail mods?

Can't leave it alone. While I'm breaking things in, I'm thinking about making a few changes. Wondering how many are highly suggested or recommended.

I'm pretty set on doing the first 5. 6-10 are maybe/not sure/have't decided specifics yet.

1. New seat, sissy bar, backrest, and luggage rack (Rolled up into a single mod. Basically, the 2-up riding package.)
2. Air Cleaner
3. Exhaust
4. PCIII
5. Engine Guard
6. Oil cooler (TC motor noticably warmer than 1200XL's. I know some of that is just bigger motor. But is oil cooler one of those necessary mods?)
7. Handlebars (Anyone put mini apes on their FX Springer? I'd like hand position to be a few inches higher, and further back.)
8. Turn signal relocation kit (For springers, can you move turn signals off bars without an aux light kit?)
9. Rear shock lower kit (54001-04....Money better put toward a set of progressives?)
10. Other ________________________________

I think, eventually you should do all except the oil cooler. If the bike needed an oil cooler, it would come with one on it. IMO. It would benefit from all of the others.

The PCIII should cool it down a little by getting rid of the factory lean condition. But if you live in an area that gets into the 90's in summer, an oil cooler isn't a bad thing at all.
Remember even if it doesn't "need" one, cooling the oil will also help to cool the engine as well as let the oil work better and last longer in it.

Guess I'll kick the oil cooler off the list. I'm in the central CA area. Temps are mild all year so little need for it. I'll push that $$$ toward the other stuff.

I've got sticker shock on some of this. The Softail shares my garage with a set of his and her Sportsters. I think I became accustomed to the cost of Sporty parts.

The wife demands I do the 2-up stuff before anything else. Immediately after, I need to do the exhaust. First thing wife said when she saw and heard it was I needed louder pipes. She's a keeper.

Being honest with myself, I'm probably going to do exhaust before the AC and PCIII. Wife said so. I'm betting I won't need a remap but I have a good indy who can take care of it if I need one (before I get my own PCIII). I'll do the AC and tuner together soon after.

I think I'm gonna need another paper route.

I would skip #1 and add the oil cooler instead. In our wheather and traffic (and damn long beach bars), the hog gets hot!

(can I have a #1 w/o the rack and a double carb with no cheese, and a #6 extra cold )

Regards.
