Do any of you Softail guys who run the fat spoke wheels(50 or 52 spoke style), run just the fat spoke wheel up front and the stock wheel out back? Yeah, I'm kind of cheap but those fat spoke wheels are A LOT of money! I have been thinking about getting a set but I can really only afford a front at this point. I could get the cheap Chinese set, but after reading about them here, I really don't want to do that to my bike. Anyways, who runs just the front? Does it look goofy or can you hardly even notice? Yeah, we are talking about a Dyna here but I can't say I have seen any of the Dyna guys ruining them, and if they did they would probably just spray paint them black anyways. So I figured I would ask the group who actually runs them on their bikes. Whats your thoughts about chrome fat spoke, straight laced, radial style wheel.... only on the front?

Thanks guys. Its funny, you both have that rare setup that works well with non matching rims, i.e. disc rear and spoke front. I may just contact drew and see about one front wheel, I don't know yet.

bikerlaw, You can get a DNA Mammoth from KC International with matching rotor for about 4 bills. They take about 5 weeks to get but Im way happy with my DNAs.
Bikerlaw, that springer frontend would look bitchin with a 21" fat spoke!!! The back is harder to see with the rotor and pulley plus you run bags sometimes so I wouldn't worry about the back right now.
Anyone running a spoke up front and the stock FB Lo wheel on the rear? I have been thinking about doing that but I would have my rear wheel PC'd solid black and get rid of the brushed rim around the edge.
Should be just fine. In the rear, hardly any of the wheel shows. Pulley covers it up on the left side and the rotor on the right side. If you got bags, why bother, you'll never see the rear wheel. JMHO
Thanks guys. Honestly, I almost always have bags on the bike like ghostrider mentioned so maybe just doing the front is going to be the option for me.
T-stone, I am still a little worried about DNA wheels. Especially with a Springer. If people were having issues with them on tube front ends I can't imagine they would fair any better on the harder riding Springer forks. Its funny, I never thought I would have to consider price, when shopping for spoke wheels. I always thought ridiculous prices were reserved for custom mags. Times sure have changed.
