Default Stopped in traffic

98 degrees here, got stopped in traffic for about 5 min. Sounded like rear cyl. cut out. Does 2011 deluxe do this like my ultra did? Thanks.

It should, but 5 minutes is pretty quick for it to heat up that much. One the cylinder starts to cut out, I usually take a break or find a less traveled road so I can keep moving.

"parade mode" is probably activated from the factory in your ECM.

All the twin cams from either 2009 or 10 forward do that when hot.

Can someone confirm a year for that? How long does it stay like that, etc.. just for my knowledge. I try to avoid traffic in heat like that. Most of the time the bike is too cold here for that.

Programmed from factory....and 5 minutes is good for late model EFI engines...they run lean...no air passing fins they heat up fast. Enjoy the bike....forget the BS on this thread.

Default Heat management

Check your owners manual. It states what it is and does. I have it on my 09 Heritage. On the softail models it can be disabled by the dealer, on the touring bikes I believe there is a procedure that the owner can do to deactivate it. If you are sitting and it activates, just blip the throttle, the other cylinder will come back on line. Here in the Las Vegas heat mine comes on quite regularly.

I just checked through my entire 09 Fatboy manual (same for all softails) and it doesn't mention any rear cylinder cutoff or parade mode. Exactly where do believe this secton is?
