Default Heritage Squealing Noise

I have had my 2001 Heritage for 1 year and a month. I am still getting use to all the "noises" this thing makes compared to my last non-Harley bike. As I pulled the bike in the garage Wednesday I noticed a high pitch "squeal" (for lack of better word). I thought maybe at first it was the brakes and rotor, or maybe front wheel bearing (since it was coming from that location). But did not notice it when I stopped or could not get it to do it again. Then took it to work yesterday and really started to notice it more. Seems to be doing it when not moving. When I shut it down, it now gives a little high pitched whine before shutting completely down. I checked the oil level and it is proper (changed it back in April).

Any thoughts on what this is? It almost sounds like a belt squeal, or something similar. Seems to be in the front, but with other noises on this bike it could be just about anywhere. With the windshield on it, noises come from strange places. Is the cam phasers by chance that I have read a few threads about? I will throw it on a jack tonight and give the front wheel a spin just to make sure it is not the brakes/rotor or wheel bearing. I know I have the "normal" front brake hum, as if the pads are always in contact with the rotor. I have been told that it is normal, however it goes away when I apply the front brakes lightly.

Thanks for a great forum, and looking forward to the great advice and help you guys and gals can offer!

Maybe pull the inspection cover and check your primary chain tension. If you say you hear it while not moving my first guess would be that or the cam tensioners. If the tensioners have never been replaced I would look into checking those no matter what.

Looking at the tensioners is it going to be fairly obvious or ?? What to look for??
