I recently bought a 97 fatboy. I have put around 130 miles on it without any problems. About two weeks ago I had to replace the cam sensor and the fuel valve, now when I start her up she idles fine but when I roll on the throttle she misses real bad until you get past half throttle then smoothes out. have checked and double checked the timing, changed the plugs and wires, checked coil with ohm meter and its ok. cant seem to figure this out and its driving me nutz. any info/help would be greatly appreiciated as I am at my wits end.
sounds carb related. id take the carb off and clean everything all passages jets etc.
I agree, the ignition is unaware of RPM ranges. It either works or is broke. You could check to see it you have a broken wire though, that may be affected by the vibration attributed to the harmonics of a certain RPM. A good carb douching will probably do the trick though!
Well, gave the carb a good douching and cleaned all the nooks and crannies. Still missing and sputtering. Guess its going to the stealer on monday. Thanks for the help.
