that sucks I carry 10 grand Accessory coverage on my 98 is there anything distingusing that one can eaisly see that will identify your fatty like a scratch/scrape or a missing or damaged something maybe the location or odd/unique grimlin bell?
On the backside of the front fender is a spot about the size of a silver dollar that the paint has been rubbed off of. The clutch cable got loose and I didn't notice it for a few days. Also the "ball" on the font brake lever was snapped off.
Tomorrow I'll be calling corpus Harley and wicked customs, both have done work on it and know the bike.

being so close to mexico the cops didn't sound too positive.
how many days have to go by before an insurance company will right the check for a stolen bike?
what is the actual cash value for a 05 fatboy,80k miles, carb, stage 1, full of chrome, saddlebags,windshield,etc.....
I've been told trade value of it is 9500, but a dealer doesn't give credit for pipes and such. and that is a wholesale value. so is 12k a reasonable number?

Progressive gives you a thousand bucks right from the start for after market parts... Good luck with whatever happens... I know it sucks brother but you'll get through it.
Like others have said, search for similar bikes and see what they are selling for. If it were me I would be looking at Harley Dealerships etc... because they always ask full book. Use that as leverage.
I will tell you Progressive really took care of me when I had an 07 Race ATV stolen. I had 5 K extra coverage on it and they didnt bat an eye after I showed them pics and the retail cost of them. The bike was an 07 so they gave me retail plus taxes etc.... I came out really well except for the fact I had hundreds of hours building it.
If memory serves me correct I had my check within 2 weeks. I asked if they recovered it what would happen and they said I would be siging my rights awy to it when I picked up my check.
It was really a painless deal other than loosing my bike.
I know you really liked the bike but look at it this way. You can start over on a new one with little to no miles on it.
The progressive guy called at 9 am. We spoke for close to an hour. He said they use nada avg retail for price. Mine is 11400.00 plus any accessories I have photos of, up to 3k in value. So maybe just maybe, I'll come out ahead a little on this.
Oh and he said by law they have to have it wrapped up 15 days after I return the needed documents, unless they suspect fraud, then they can request longer.
Hey man, this blows, but look at it this way,
You and your wife are home safe, and spent the night in your own beds.. that is worth something.. trust me on that.
You will get your money back and a new bike soon, life is good , the sucker who stole it, does not have one tenth of what you got.
