I was thinking about trading my Fxstc in for a Street glide, any pro and cons? I think the Street glide will be better for long rides?

Its all about Taste. There are people that tour on sportsters and swear by them. If you are taking lots of long trips I would say it would be a nice upgrade simply for the storage options. I personally like the road kings. You can strip the windshield and make them look real slick or throw it back on to go distances or in the rain.

Looked at one today in Fort Myers FL.... nice for long trips...I may get one next yr ...a 2012... if HD adds LAN/CAN to it. Just add it to stable...I love my Fattie too much to sell it.

I was shopping for a Street Glide when I bought my Heritage. The Softail just fit me better. I've ridden softails and touring models. I'd say if you're spending your day at 60 or below the softail is it. If you're spending your day at 60 and above a touring model would work for you. They're all nice for sure.

I took my uncles for a ride this spring and was very impressed with it. They are a different beast from the softies. My only reasons for not wanting one yet still stand though. There are more then enough bat-wings on the road, and the Heritage is just plain cooler looking (IMHO). When we get to where we're going, I strip mine down and have a cool bike to ride, but he still has his same old street glide. Still, if you like them, go for it. They are a great riding bike.

While I like the look of the Street Glide, I found the ride harsh and the lower windshield made my goggles jump up and down. I found the ride home on my Deluxe quite plush by comparison. It's up to ya though, like your pants . . .

I myself am just not old enough for a bagger quite yet...lol maybe when I'm 60. No for long extended trips I too would like a bagger, I lean more to the Roadglide as not that many around I see streetglides everywhere I go. They are a great bike too. If thats what you want then go for it, just ride one for a while first
