Besides the MSRP on these bikes always check out the hidden costs too. I've heard of dealers charging really high set up fees and other fees that were way out of line with the norm, but would sell at MSRP and you would thing you were doing allright till you check the paper work after the sale.

My '05 Deuce cost $18,400 w/FI and two-tone paint. I'm fairly certain that price is/was MSRP. I got nothing extra.

There still seem to be plenty of '05 bikes sitting on the showroom floors of dealers all over. I think that I would be a little concerned about purchasing an '06 after all the information regarding EPA regs.

Either find yourself an '05 bike or hunt for a used bike in great condition.

I’m pretty sure the Cali bikes have the cats already. My question then is have they been modifying the exhaust on there bikes and if so how?

I think you are right about the cali. bikes having cats now. It will be interesting to see if they are anything like cars and if you tamper with the cats if they will pass it on an inspection, one thing for sure is that the dealers aren't going to tamper with it after EPA gets done with their fines.

The 05 EFI Deuce that you see here was about $18.700 when it was stock. Had the security from the factory also. I would think that you should purchase one for under $19,000. Of...like what was already said....at this time of the year...they are getting scarce. I also wanted to get the 05 because the new ones would probably have a cat conv on them and I want no problems changing out the stock(not even a Harley sound) pipes.

krenshaw: I have an 03 Deuce and love it. I ride mostly solo or with a kid and it is perfect. Enough power and speed and I love the look. If I was going to ride two up with my wife, I would probably go with a Road King, but it does OK for short trips and she quit touring with me a long time ago.

Thanks bud, I appreciate the input. I'm the same way... love the look and I can't wait to take a test ride to experience the power & handling. If I ever do any two-up riding, it'll likely be for short trips only as well... Most the riding is going to be solo for me. I've seen a lot of favorable reviews on the deuce... now I just need to get my *** on one and feel it for myself! Thanks again for the input.

I have an 04 Deuce with 7600mi. First bike ever. Absolutely love it.
Ordered it in Nov 03 for April 04. Took MSF Class and picked it up directly after passing the class.
New vs Used is a personal prefference. Can get used with low miles and lots of extras for similar price as new stock.
If you still want Brand New maybe wait until fall and dealer will be more helpful in finding exactly what you want.
They have to move what is on the floor. Saw a Purple 05 Deuce at the dealership this week.
Each dealership is different. I chose one 30miles away vs one that is 3 miles down the rode.

The people on this forum know from experience they are usually right on the money.
