Harley sells a good screwdriver that includes torx bits.
A multimeter or light bulb with wires to test electrical connections. Extra wire. Some of those click-lock(?) wire connectors so you can connect wires without soldering.
Those camping flashlights that strap on your head let the light shine where you look, and leaves your hands free.
Snap-On just happens to give us a list of the tools that would make up the ideal kit. After looking at the list I figured I had most of it in the "extras" drawer in my tool box and what I didn't have I could buy and keep the cost down from buying Snap-On's set.
You can have a look at it here: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....store&tool=all
Found a HD multi tool in my saddlebag. It seems to have most of the tools you guys mentioned all in one. Don't know if the dealer put it in or it came with the new Limited?
I want to assemble a tool roll and would like some opinions as to what to carry for an FLSTC. Don't want to carry my entire toolbox but just a few tools that make sense. Any suggestions based on experience ? I was thinking along the lines of:
Regular pliers
Needle nose pliers
Wire cutters
1 flat & 1 phillips screwdriver
Medium size vise grips
(2) 6" crescent wrenches
Folding torx wrench set
Folding allen wrench set (?)
Small bundle of wire tie-wraps
Roll of electric tape
Comments / suggestions ?
Thanks,
Add to your great list....a mini LED flashlight, some zip ties, a set of spare fuses and a fluid hose clamp...and that is what I manage to fit in the kidney shaped HD tool box that attaches near the belt guard.

Oh....forgot....I carry a spare headland bulb in there too. Was riding one night and truck in front sent rock straight into my headlamp....POW....and light was out.
the one thing I really like is the harley 8 in 1 screwdriver the dealer sells covers all the screwdrivers you need most of the torx and works as a nut driver on several size bolts, it mad more bits on it that the four in one you see in the hardware stores is made really well ( i know harley doesn't make it m dont know who does make it for them ) and gives you a huge toolkit in a screwdriver handle . that is in addition to the other things listed here alway bring some duct tape, electrician tape , some mechanic type wire

I read all these posts...and started thinking about all the fuxxing rode side repairs and problems I've had with Harleys and Indians over 30 + years...and all the tools and spares I've had to carry and use over the years...and them I remember those fuxxing BMW and Honda and Yamaha things that I would not ride...but that never seem to fail or break down...specially in the last 10 to 15 yrs....and....I know I love my Softail .... but damn.....

that cotton picking harley screwdriver works real good on those honda bmw and yamaha things real well , ask me how I know. just kinda alway like having tools with me doesn't matter what I amd driving or riding, a lot of the times it for others that didn't have any tools or something silly like a light bulb burned out.
