planethx: Good, you figured it out. The flashing of the security light is what stumped me until I figured it out, for some reason I was expecting the turn signals to flash the number. My manual didn't specify the security light.

Raymond_maxx: You might be better off starting a new thread with the question.

currently the turn lights just flash back and forth when I try to start it

As Shupshe suggested, it's always better to start a new thread then to add your question on the end of an old thread... I only saw this by accident..

You shouldn't have to reprogram your FOB with a bike battery change... try changing the battery in your FOB.

If that doesn't work, start a new thread. More people will see your issue and assist you...

Suggest you start a new thread and state the bike year and model and whether it's keyless or not.

Kippy, it's always best to start a new thread instead of adding on to a thread from 2011. Only the people that have replied on the thread will see it.
Include year and type of bike as things change over the years.

I have recently purchased a 2007 hd softail duece, it didn't come with a fob. I know it runs the previous owner road it over to my house to deliver it. This trying to use the code to start it is not working. I followed the instructions and the on of on off 3 times and do not switch it to run and the thing is: the option to enter the code never happens. It just flashes the red key icon. So im at a loss i would really like to crank it up and let it run so I can check the systems. Am I misunderstanding the instructions they seem pretty straightforward too me... is there a video out there for the 2007 hd softail duece showing how to do this successfully?

I see that you’ve had a couple of basically double posts. I went in and deleted them to avoid redundancy.
In the future, when you have the ability just go in and edit your post instead of restating the same information in a separate post under the same topic if you’ve left out a detail or 2.
Also, this topic that you’ve posted in began in 2011. You’d probably be better off starting your own new topic for more current information and to avoid wading through old posts that might not be relevant to the problem you’re trying to solve. Shupshe has pointed this out already.
Any questions on how things work don’t be afraid to ask. If I don’t have the answer I’ll push it up the ladder to find one.

When you enter a forum subsection like Softail Models you should be able to see "Forum Tools" at the right hand side. Clicking on that opens the menu where you click "Post a New Thread"
