I'm looking for a non expensive (less than $300) rear fender replacement for my 2011 Fat Boy Lo. I'm want something like a Bobber fender or the heartland kit but don't have 2G's to spend. Can somebody suggest a solution to make this happen? Are there any other rear fenders from other bikes that would be a direct bolt on replacement?
Stock struts will fit fine. Look for a 9" fender on ebay. You need to be aware that there are several different fender radii out there (I learned that the hard way). For a fender to sit near the tire (like mine) the radius needs to be designed for a rigid frame. With struts, the fender sits higher and so the radius is more relaxed. For that fender to look close to the tire you will need to lower the bike. That means either big $$$ for shotgun shocks, or lowering bolts which makes the bike ride hard. Good luck.
