Default Engine ID riddle - help!

Hey all,

Recently purchased a custom Heritage Softail Classic from a guy who worked for the HD factory. As it is custom I am trying to ID the engine. The first three letters of the engine I'd are "PFD". I can not trace this anywhere. The engine does have the small 100 year Anniversary logo on the lower left side just below the forward cylinder. Any thoughts on the origins of this motor?

Thanks for any assistance.........

Thanks much this does give a good definition of VIN and engine numbers but for some reason can't find the model identified on my engine starting with PFD.
