I was rolling through the middle of nowhere in Nevada on Saturday by myself and got pulled over. The highway patrolman was sitting ont eh otehr side of the hwy (95) and jsut finished writing a ticket to a car. I thought to myself here it comes. I looked in teh rear view and sure enough he pulled a u turn. Lit me up right away. I was going 5mph UNDER the speed limit which was 70 there.
Now for the good part of the story. The officer was very cool. He saw I was from CA and expalined to me taht apes over your shoulders are not legal in NV. Mine are a bit over my shoudlers. He siad he didn't know the law in CA which I informed him was 6" over your shoulders. He ran my license and registration adn it came back clean. He didn't even want to see my insurance which I thought was strange.
I was riding a route that I had never been on and had not researched at all. I asked him about the route I chose and he suggested a better alternate. 95 to NV 360 to NV 6 back into CA.
This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a highway patrol officer and I commend the NV HP for being cool. The route he suggested was awesome. IF I can ever find my camera I'll post some pics of the ride.
Glad it worked out for you Drew. I have not been pulled over on my Harley yet. However I can't count the number of times I have been pulled over on my sport bike. 8x last year alone. Only 2 times I was actually breaking the law. Don't miss that crap at all.

KeeBee, Why were you stopped the other six times that year? Being a Trooper for 28 years I only stopped a handful of drivers mistakenly, and I told each one that... Otherwise every contact was for an actual violation, regardless if the driver recognized or accepted that fact... Almost every time the driver's attitude dictated the final outcome, but every stop was initiated because of a violation. Six unlawful stops in one year sounds incredible!

2 stops I was speeding. 3 stops on the toll road to check for my toll tag. 3 stops to check my motorcycle endorsement. Sad thing is this was all done in the first 8 months of 2010. Got sick of it and parked my bike.
