I know what you mean, getting it to "wrinkle" properly is almost an art form. Too little paint and its just black, too much and it runs, but you have to put almost too much on and keep it even all over or it wrinkles differently in different places.

I have the windshield bag also, plus the stock Harley hardbags. I use a Tourmaster T-bag for travel. Works out Ok but I really want Blueroses saddlebags so I am saving my money.
Tool kit in one side... extra set of glasses (clears), side stand plate, small flashlight, cigars and lighter in the other to name some of the stuff. Softtails = being creative... I have a cargo net and a small bag I strap to the rear for long trips... makes for a nice backrest too!
Voodoo - cool pic of your bike with all the swirls around the bike!! What kind of photo imaging software did you use for that?? Really awesome.

RE: Where do you keep your stuff?
My vehicle credentials and occasionally a pair of sunglasses I keep in the H-D chrome storage tube I mounted on the bike. It's functional and looks great, imo.
The rest? POCKETS!
You can see the storage tube attached to the left front frame rail in this photo.
