Default New pipe installation tips and tricks

This will be my first pipe swap on my 09 Crossbones. Looking at wrapping up some Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 2s. Just looking for some tips and tricks that will make this go as smooth as possible! Thanks

Their site doesn't have much installation help. If it uses stock tapered exhaust gaskets I would recommend a Jims Exhaust gasket tool to make seating them a lot easier.

You want tips on wrapping or installing, or both? Wrapping: start at the outlet and work towards the head. Make sure it's wet when you wrap it so you can get it very tight.

Installing: take your time, when you're done you won't believe how easy it is and how much money you saved by doing it yourself.

Check youtube for both of these, plenty of videos on both.

Wrappin, I used Lava wrap, light olive drab color (advertised as a carbon fiber look)I bought off E-Bay $40 50ft., took stock pipes off and wrapped DRY. Stuck a pole in the ground that fit inside the pipe and pulled super tight. Been on for 400miles and has not changed color. Wasn't sure if I'd like the color but it grew on me, might paint flat black in the future. Should be interesting to see how the stock pipes hold up to the heat. I also punched out the cats in the stock mufflers, added alittle more sound. See Photo album for pictures.
