Finally got a chance to take pics of my rear fender swap. What do you all think?
The fender was off a late 90s heritage (??) The parts guy at my local harley dealer sold it to me for 30 bucks. I had to drill out the strut screw holes and cut my mounting brackets but for the most part it bolted right up.
I had all the license plate and other holes filled and the fender painted by a buddy of mine.
I bought the nightster turn signal modulator and swapped the guts out of two front turn signals to make my lights work as brakes, run, and turn signals.
Overall, I'm way happy with how it came out! I like it even better with out the passenger seat but no pics of that yet.
Looks great. No holes or license mount, brake light - clean. You scored! Do something with your turn signals - pull them in at least- and it will look even better.
yeah, i think it would look better too.. minus the signals.. but at the same time i like the splash of red back there.
ill check out the alloy arts signals.
Wow. Are you in SLC? I have never had good service from the dealer here. Also, what shop did the fender fill and paint? I just removed the plate from my rear fender and plan on getting the holes filled and painted this winter.

No, I'm down in Orem. Timpanogas Harley in Lindon. I have nothing but good things to say about them. The parts guys especially..great service! If your experience has been bad up there id definitely say its worth the 45 min drive. Plus, the building is awesome.
About the fender, my buddy had to do it under the table as his company "doesn't work on motorcycles". I would ask around at local body shops and collision repair shops. It, so i learned, is a pretty common practice. Prices vary a whole lot, though. so, shop around.
If my friend hadn't offered I would have had Untouchables in Orem do the work for me. They were cheaper than maaco and Id trust them a bit more.. haha
