Default Removing baffles on Deuce (Screaming Eagle Pipes)

Hi,
I got my Deuce yesterday and it has screaming eagle pipes on, and the baffles are still in. I have had a quick look at the pipes, and it looks like there is just one rivet per baffle, that needs to be drilled out, to remove the baffle. It is on the under side of the pipe, right near the back. Is this correct?
If I do remove them, will I need to re jet the carb?
Appreciate any advice, thanks, Bruce

I would leave the baffles in them, you would have to rejet if you did remove them. They don't run as good when you remove the baffles.

They must be older mufflers as the newer ones have bolts in them instead of rivets.

It's a pretty simple thing to do. There are actually two rivets per muffler. The one that you can see at the bottom of the muffler and then one you can not see that is behind the pipe next to the swingarm. You have to loosen the clamps that hold the heat shields on, then you have to loosen the clamps that hold the slip-on mufflers on. Then you pull the slip-ons off of the bike and take a drill to all the rivets. After the rivets are out, grab something long, slender, and sturdy (i.e., re-bar, broomstick, rake handle, etc...) and have a buddy hold the pipe while you stick the rod into the small end of the pipe and hammer the baffle out the fat side. After this is completed, just slip the mufflers back on and retighten all your clamps and your bike will be loud as heck. I did this about 2 months ago and the only time I regret it is when I am coming home at 2am and I just know my neigbors don't love me very much at this time of night.
