Default heritage gps

I like to install a gps on my 2005 heritage and was wondering if anybody has done this and if so, what is the best way to install it. Would like to use the garmin that I use in my car. Is this possible, or will there be vibration issues?

Dude do it...

You can get a handlebar mount for the Garmin and a power adapter then you're on your way to part unknown.

I have a friend who tried GPS with his Heritage and finally decided that GPS will not work on that particular bike, all the metal studs cause too much interference...

The Garmin works great on the seat or in the tool bag, I just need to get a bar mount.

I haven't ridden with it yet but I put mine on the inside of the windshield with the suction cup. I believe it will work. You can power it up inside your saddlebag with the tender connector.

Here is what you need.

I heard a tinfoil hat will interfere with the interference. LOL.

You laugh man but I wear a tin foil hat when I leave the house so the government can't track me with the tracking device that they put in one of my jaw teeth.

I bought the kuryakyn gps mount for the handle bars, part number 1478. this fits the garmin nuvi perfect. Your going to have to redrill the holes in the back of the bag so the mount is 90 degrees turned. Also drill a 5/16 hole in the rear of the bag for the power cord to go thru. I bought two bags of conchos from J-P cycles and added them around the sides of the bag, to match the rest of the bike.

Harbor freight has the 12volt power cord with the correct end to plug into your trickle charger cord on your bike. I had to cut the cord and souder in an additional 16inches or so of wire and ran it under the gas tank. The plug mounts beneth the lower right side of the handle bars. I went to home depot and picked up in the electrical isle, a 1inch black cable clamp, that will go around the 12volt plug from harbor freight. This set up has worked great for me so far. Ill work on getting a photo posted.

There likely wont be vibration issues, but if you run into weather, you might have trouble, the (crazy expensive) Zumo is sealed.
