I liked mine a lot! Needed a lil bit of storage. That's the problem I ran into. I wanted the bagged tail kit.. No go on the deuce.
I also don't think it was meant for shorter guys.. I'm 5'8"... And the leg position was too forward that what ever bars, or angle of them, I couldn't take any pressuse off my azz...
Love the looks and style though!!
I'm 5'8". I got the HD bars specifically for the Deuce which puts my arms in a great relaxed position. I got a LePera Deluxe 2-up Silhouette which has more back support, perfection!

Looks good! I moved from the Deuce to a RoadGlide....Great bike too...
but missed the softail family...
Back to a NIGHT TRAIN WITH a springer...
Never liked it from day 1. The tank is too long for the rest of the bike, the breakover angle between tank & seat is too abrupt, the seat is fugly, and the rear fender is an abomination. Even the name is dopey. Not as dopey as Co....er,Rocker. Or Crossbones. Pulleeeze! Prolly wanted to call it the "Ace" but Honda already had that.
However....
A few of the Deuces on this thread are pretty awesome--Benders,Fls, and a couple others. But they all got rid of the rear fender. Nothing can hold a candle in looks to the Nighttrain or Softail Custom, IMHO.

nightrains are awesome,
softail custom???? and you say the deuce seat is ugly??
After ditching my 883 and getting screwed out of owning a new Softail Standard by a dealer I kind of soured on Harley and said I'd never own another one again. When the Deuce came out, I said I'd never own another Harley again, except if it was a Deuce, but at the time the new prices around her were pretty crazy and out of my reach. A $7,000 sportbike compared to a $16,000 Harley.
Well, I found an '04 and I'm picking it up next Friday. I already have all kinds of plans running through my head for paint, power, and purtiness.
I sold my Evo Dyna in 2000 to buy my Deuce. Dyna was a good bike. Wife still has an Evo Dyna. She would not part with hers. But when I saw the then new Deuce, I knew that was a bike I had to have. It has a permanent spot in my garage. It remains my "go to bike" for short rides. Over 100 miles I prefer my '08 Road Glide. Very different rides.
No mod parts for the Deuce, you say! My pocketbook says otherwise. I've been continually modding my Deuce for over a decade. As soon as pocketbook allows, more mods waiting to happen.
My Deuce always draws a crowd of all age groups. Younger folks don't know what it is until I tell them. They've all heard of the Deuce but not necessarily seen one in person. Count on it being coveted if you buy one.
