I tried the ones from www.earfuze.com. They're great for running, but no so much for riding. I have to have the volume up so high, between the music and wind noise (no windshield and a 3/4 helmet), when I stop after 100+ miles I feel like I'm under water.
I use a LG 700 Stereo Bluetooth Headset on my longer rides. It gives me complete control, it has comfortable buds that go in my ear to block some noise, but I can still hear my wife shifting gears when she is riding near me. I think it's awesome to use and it feels fine on the neck. I really enjoy it and and I control everything at the touch of one of the buttons and my Iphone stays in my coat pocket or bag. I don't think it has noise cancelling on the mic but I don't answer the phone while riding any way. I got the 1 year replacement warranty for eight bucks so I don't have to worry about a little rain or what ever.
I used to have some custom molded earplugs I got from a motorcycle show and they could also implant some ear bud speakers in them. But your ears change over the years and they became uncomfortable.
But my current solution is the ER4 earphones. They block out noise (35 dB - 42 dB reduction) and the sound is great.
Has anyone here had any custom earmolds done that your ipod earbuds would clip into? I love listening while I ride but its useless over about 50 mph. I think a custom earmold would reduce ambient noise down to a level you could enjoy the music. What say you?
