This will be an interesting one.. Would love to hear from the guys that did some moderate to extensive stuff.. top-end, full-out strokers, and all in between.
Currently just the bolt-on's:
SE Air Cleaner kit,
Dynajet kit (carb),
Rinehart staggered exhaust..
Using Mobil-1 V-Twin oil in the engine and Redline Shockproof Heavy gear oil in the transmission.. standard formula+ in the primary.
Would love to do:
95" Kit with some good headwork and S&S Gear drive Cam kit... maybe even a 103" if I kept the bike a long time from now and the engine was "done" and ready for rebuild.. If it is that shot someday, maybe just slap in a big honkin' S&S replacement of the 113" or up variety.. No replacement for displacement.
I voted "slightly modified" based on intent. Its bone stock right now but only cause I'm poor today. But I've got the air cleaner, pipes, and the tuner picked out.
For now, I'd be content just to get the motor happy. I'd like cams and maybe a 95" kit someday.
So far I've only done the stage one (carb rejet, SE2 slipons, high-flow air cleaner), but this winter she gets gear drive cams (Head Quarters HQ-0039) and the heads are being ported and polished, getting larger valves, a valve job, springs, guides and seals. I've been told to expect about 50% more power!!!
Interesting so far. I have only done the air cleaner, carb kit, & pipes. I thought that there would be a heck of a lot more with internal engine mods.[sm=confused06.gif]
