Default Looking for Parts

Hi all Im new to these threads and this forum. I have a 2009 Fatboy which now is stock. I have added slip on rush exhaust but I am looking for more. i would like to put on the short shot vance and hines exhaust on it but i am not looking to go broke either. I would also like to add saddle bags hard ( not throw overs ). So let me ask you folks here where can i go on this site or on the web. I wont mind if they are used. I also have to ask. When I do have a new exhaust do I Have to remap the motor as well? The engine I believe is a 1600.

Thanks for all your help....

Anthony

first of all the engine is a 96" A lot of folks are now saying that you do not have to remap when you are doing exhaust only, when you change the air cleaner, you will definitely have to remap. Have fun on your quest to mod your scooter and not go broke, its pretty much impossible...

Go to the classified section in the forum, look under softail and you will probably find what you are looking for.

The chrome short shots are pretty inexpensive as far as exhaust goes. If you don't have a high flow air filter just pipes is fine. Hard bags and an expensive venture any way you go. You need a bagger tail to mount them which is between $200-300 and then you need hard bags that match your bike which are quite expensive. Even if you buy them used it's going to cost.

The classified section here is a great place to find used stuff for less.

Also If i go with a K & N air filter. well let me back up. I believe the engine is fuel injected will a aftermarket air filter help? and approximately how much are those conversion kits?

check ebay and just look around for exhausts, they're out there and you can get some fairly cheap in certainly places..

the engine is a 1584cc, so not quite 1600..

pipes only = no need for remap

the Arlen Ness Big Sucker stage 1 air intake is between $130-160 and works just fine, others are comparably priced
..add an air cleaner = remap
Saddlebags will probably cost you as much, if not More, than a new exhaust set up.. you'll need docking hardware, racks, the bags themselves, then more money if you buy a set that aren't painted, etc etc etc

and Pompton Lakes, NJ? there's a ton of hot chicks up there.. example:

Once you go here (AC and Pipes (stage 1)) you will need to consider a tuner. And the snowball keeps on rolling down that hill.

You have chosen an expensive toy my friend. Ride the bike and make your changes as you have the funds. Just go into it expecting to spend twice what you want to and you won't be surprised when it costs 3 times as much.
